If you are unable to adopt at this time please consider sponsoring a dog in need. Every year MMBR takes in may sick dogs whose medical costs far exceed the eventual adoption fee. It is through the support of sponsors like you that we can keep doing what we do.
What Is Heartworm Disease? Our adoption fee covers our rescue dogs to be spayed/neutered, vaccinated, heartworm tested, parasite free and microchipped. When we get a dog who has a serious medical illness, it is imperative that we fundraise to cover the expenses incurred while treating the illness. Please find it in your heart to help one of our sick dogs. Every year MMBR takes in MANY, MANY sick and injured dogs and without donations we could not continue to do what we do
SPONSER A SICK DOG Heartworms is a HUGE problem with the strays that rescue groups pick up from animal shelters. Every year MMBR treats anywhere from 5-8 cases of heartworms in dogs. Each dog with heartworms costs the rescue at least $300 and that is not including all the medical care to get them into proper condition to treat the disease or the cost of neuter or spay. Heartworm treatment is not the only expensive medical care our dogs get. From time to time we get boxers with tumors that need removal, heart problems, kidney failure and other medical problems that need to be addressed before adoption. We even get dogs with serious injuries resulting from being abused, mistreated and even from being hit by a car.
How You Can Help
We take donations to help offset the cost of expensive medical procedures. Donations can be made to MMBR or directly to our veterinarian. If you cannot afford to donate anything, please consider helping us out with our next fundraiser. Every donation helps save a life.
The following people have recently donated. It is through their kindness that we can care for Loni, Tag, Xena, and other dogs who need expensive medical care.
